Research

My research interests includes dependable distributed systems and distributed data management systems. During my Ph.D. at the University of Lugano, I was fortunate to serve as a research assistant in Distributed Systems group under the supervision of Prof. Fernando Pedone.

I worked on using RDMA network to boost the performance of distributed systems. In particular, we used RDMA's shared-memory model to build fault-tolerant systems that are both scalable and strongly consistent.

I contributed to the development of the following projects:

  • Heron: a scalable state machine replication system on top of RDMA [paper, code]

  • RamCast: an atomic multicast protocol for the shared-memory system model by leveraging RDMA [paper, code]

  • DynaTree: a distributed and replicated B+Tree that guarantees strong consistency [paper, code]

  • DynaStar: a dynamic partitioning scheme for scalabling State Machine Replication [paper, code]
